For site administrators: How to edit and modify the Home Page.

Step-by-step guide

Almost every area of the Home Page can be customised by site administrators, although the basic layout remains fixed. For details on how to customise each area, please follow the links below:

  • Header and Footer (applies to all pages)
  • Image Carousel
  • Large Link Buttons
  • Sections 1, 2 & 3

General Club Settings

  1. Sign in to your myClubhouse site with administrator-level priviledges and navigate to Admin > Settings > General Club Settings
  2. Within General Club Settings, there are a number of settings which can be displayed on the Contact Us page:
    1. Club Main Venue Address - complete the address as you wish it to be displayed throughout the site. If you want it to display on the Contact Us page, check the 'Include in Contact Us page' box.

    2. Contact Us Email Form - check the box 'Enable 'Email Us' form on Contact Us page' if you want to display a contact form on the Contact Us page. The contact form enables visitors to send an email to selected Club Officers without the club officers needing to disclose their email addresses. The form also prevents spamming as no email address is accessible to search bots and the form can only be submitted by a human. To select which Club Officers will be contacted, click the link shown to edit the auto-generated email template.

    3. Club Telephone - enter your telephone number for general enquiries. Check the box if you want it automatically displayed on your Contact Us page.

  3. Click Save Changes

Customise Home Page

  1. Sign in to your myClubhouse site with administrator-level priviledges and navigate to Admin > Page Customisation > Customise Contact Us Page
  2. Here you will see some of the same settings from General Club Settings, but there are other settings which are specific to the Contact Us page.
  3. Map Link URL in Contact Us Page

    Select either:
    1. 'Use my own link' and enter the URL of a map page of your choice or
    2. 'Google Maps Link' and put in your poscode, myClubhouse will convert this to a link to your location on Google Maps.
    3. 'Do not include map link' and no link will be displayed on the Contact Us page.
  4. Embedded Map - myClubhouse can embed a map on your Contact Us page. Just check the box and enter your address, location, postcode or Lat/Long grid reference; myClubhouse will take care of the rest.

  5. Introductory Text on 'Email Us' Form - Here you can enter a message to visitors using your Contact Us form. The information panel can be closed by the visitor, once they have read it. You can use Markdown syntax to embed, for example, hyperlinks and other basic formatting into any of the free text fields. For example: to include a hyperlink, the syntax is: [link text here](http://example.com). Use this CommonMark Cheatsheet for guidance.

  6. Email Form Settings - her you can set the text used for each field on the contact form. You can also set whether you want to ask visitors for address, telephone or mobile.

Custom Sections

There are three available custom sections which can be placed on the Contact Us page.

  • Section 1 - Below the Page Title, across the full page width
  • Section 2 - On the right-hand column, directly below Section 1 or Page Title (but above the Telephone and Location)
  • Section 3 - On the right-hand column, below Telephone and Location

In each case you have a checkbox to show/hide the section, and a WYSIWYG html editor to compose your content. When using the HTML editor, please try to make the layout responsive (resizable for mobile devices). If you know HTML you can click the  button and edit the HTML code directly. You can use css style classes from Bootstrap or add your own styles in the HTML. myClubhouse uses Bootstrap styles throughout and is based on a 12-column responsive layout.
