what3words is a third-party system to identify any exact location in the world (as postcodes and street addresses aren’t always precise enough). what3words is especially useful when describing a location that doesn’t have an address, such as for an Event in the countryside or a specific entrance to a location or site that does have an address.

Finding a Location
The easiest way to find a location in what3words format is to:
Navigate to https://what3words.com/.
Find the location on the map.
Zoom in and click on a square. The entrance, car park, or meeting point is a good option to choose if you are not sure which square to chose within the location.
Copy the 3 words in the top left.
Paste into the appropriate field in myClubhouse.
Alternatively, there is a what3words app that allows you and your members to find a location on the go.
Uses
Anywhere within your myClubhouse site that has an address or map, what3words can be used in place of a traditional postcode. Here are some examples:
Events
You can use what3words in place of a postcode in the Venue Map Location field, which is under the “Organisers & Venue” tab when creating or editing an Event or Event Series.
This will display a map on the Event page of the Venue location:
You can also use what3words in the Venue Directions for meeting points that are near the Venue but do not necessarily have a street address. These can be made public or displayed only to attendees.
The what3words app is great for members to be able to look up the venue location while on the go, even on their way to the Event as the app can work with Apple and Google maps to help your members get to the Event on time.

Contact Us
A map to show where your club is on the Contact Us page is really helpful for prospective members to find out where you are located. You can use a postcode, but that may not be precise enough or your club may not have a street address.
Under the “Map Link URL in Contact Us Page”, enter the 3 words into the “Embed Map in Contact Us Page and save the changes to set the map location on the Contact Us Page.
