Membership Start Times

Sometimes you want greater flexibility for new members who join part-way through a season, without extra hassle. Membership Start Times allows you to provide a pre-defined list of options for members to select from to choose when their membership will start. You can have the same options for all of your Membership Categories or have tailored Start Times for each Membership Category, depending on your club’s needs.

Instructions

Creating A Membership Start Time

1. Navigate to Subscriptions > Membership Start Times.

2. Click “Add Option”.

3. Complete the wizard:

   Open

   

   1. Name: Enter the name for the Start Time.

   2. Description: Enter a short description of the Start Time, possibly including what it will be used for.

   3. Type: Select the type of Start Time that you want. Some may require additional fields to be selected.

      1. As Soon As possible: The Subscription will start as soon as it has been approved, either manually or automatically, depending on the Membership Category.

      2. As soon as possible or next season/year from cut-off date: The Subscription will start as soon as it has been approved or, if after a specified date, it will begin on the first day of the next season.

      3. Applicant chooses date: The user applying for the Subscription will be able to enter a date to start their Subscription.

      4. Specific date: The Subscription will start on a preset date.

      5. Next instance of day/month: The Subscription will start on the next instance of the specified day and month. In the example below, if today’s date is 15th September 2023, the Subscription would start on the 24th August 2024.

      6. Start of current season/year: The Subscription will start retrospectively from the first day of the current season, as set in Admin > Settings > General Club Settings.

      7. Start of next season/year: The Subscription will start from the first day of next season, as set in Admin > Settings > General Club Settings.

      8. Start of current month: The Subscription will start retrospectively from the 1st of the current month.

      9. Start of next month: The Subscription will start from the 1st of the next month from when the Subscription is applied for.

      10. Start of next year: The Subscription will start from the 1st of January of the next year from when the Subscription is applied for.

      11. Next instance of event: The Subscription will start on the start date of the next Event of the selected Event Type. Learn more about Event Types in this guide: Event Types

   4. Currently available: Make sure that this is checked so that the start option can be used.

   5. OK: Once happy with the details, click “OK” to save the Start Time.

4. Repeat the steps to add all the desired Start Times.

Adding to a Membership Category

Once you have created your Membership Start Times, you will want to add them to your Membership Categories:

1. Navigate to Subscriptions > Membership Categories.

2. Click “Edit” next to an existing Membership Category, or click “Add Category”.

3. Under the “Dates & Duration” tab, scroll down to the “Start Date” section.

4. Next to “Start Options”, click the dropdown and select all the Start Times you want for this Membership Category.

5. If it is a new Membership Category, complete the rest of the wizard.

6. Once happy with the details, click “Save Changes” to save the Membership Category.
