Set Up

  1. Navigate to Admin > Settings > General Club Settings.

  2. Click on the “Events” tab.

  3. Scroll to the what3words section and click the “developer page” link in the introduction, or navigate directly to “https://developer.what3words.com/public-api”.

  4. Click the “Get an API Key” button.

  5. Select a plan. The free plan should be more than ample for a myClubhouse integration, but you can choose to use a paid one if you wish.

  6. Sign up for an account or Log in if you already have one.

  7. Read and agree to the terms and conditions.

  8. Press “Submit”.

  9. Optional: Enter your company/club name and your industry.

  10. Click “Continue”.

  11. Enter in a name for the API Key, as well as a brief description of what you will be using it for.

  12. Click “Generate API Key”.

  13. Copy the API Key.

  14. Return to General Club Settings in myClubhouse and paste it into the API Key field.

  15. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes”.

  16. what3words is now ready to be used on your site.

Finding a Location

The easiest way to find a location in what3words format is to:

  1. Navigate to https://what3words.com/.

  2. Find the location on the map.

  3. Zoom in and click on a square. The entrance, car park, or meeting point is a good option to choose if you are not sure which square to chose within the location.

  4. Copy the 3 words in the top left.

Alternatively, there is a what3words app that allows you and your members to find a location on the go.
